The objective for this presentation is to discuss how an always connected access to wireless networks and real-time informational applications affects transit system ridership as well as the rider’s experiences. The hypothesizes are that ridership would increase if an always connected productivity and security in buses/trains could be increased. The presentation will outline potential opportunities and limitations of wireless communication systems that might affect transit system ridership, including data integration, coverage issues, bandwidth, security, etc.
