Bulletin de l’AQTr #15 – 2015 : Message de la SAAQ - Révocation de trois certificats de reconnaissance de l’école de conduite Le Marquis

Information aux élèves et invitation au soutien des écoles environnantes

Le présent bulletin vise à vous informer que le 29 mai 2015 la Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (Société) a révoqué trois certificats de reconnaissance de l’école de conduite Le Marquis, les autorisant de dispenser le Programme d’éducation à la sécurité routière :

  • Le Marquis, situé au 17, rue des Pins, St-Antonin (Québec), G0L 2J0
  • Le Marquis, situé au 515, rue De la Briquette, Dégelis (Québec), G5T 1B2
  • Le Marquis, situé au 412, 9ème Rue, La Pocatière (Québec), G0R 1Z0

Nous comprenons que ces révocations puissent causer des problèmes aux élèves n’ayant pas complété leur formation et nous en sommes désolés.

Dans une telle situation, l’élève peut faire des démarches pour se faire rembourser les sommes dues sur la base du contrat qu’il a signé avec l’école. Nous l’invitons à consulter l’Association québécoise des transports (AQTr) pour se faire accompagner dans ses démarches. Afin de poursuivre sa formation auprès d’une autre école reconnue, nous l’invitons également à consulter l’AQTr.

Ainsi nous sollicitons la collaboration des écoles environnantes à l’égard d’un élève qui voudrait poursuivre sa formation sans tarder. Nous suggérons à ces écoles de :

  1. Accueillir l’élève et lui permettre de poursuivre sa formation à partir de là où il était rendu, sur présentation de son carnet d’accès à la route et d’une copie de son attestation. L’AQTr procédera à la remise des attestations aux élèves par courrier à compter du 15 juin 2015.
  2. Facturer à l’élève le montant correspondant à la partie de la formation qui lui reste à faire. Il convient à ce sujet de rappeler que le Règlement sur les permis établit à 825 $ le montant maximum exigible pour suivre le cours de conduite visé par la classe 5 de permis de conduire.
  3. Permettre à l’élève d’utiliser le matériel pédagogique qu’il aura déjà en sa possession.

Nous comptons sur les écoles pour accueillir les élèves concernés, compte tenu des circonstances.

Il est important de prendre note que les sommes versées à l’école révoquée, pour la partie de la formation qui reste à suivre, ne peuvent pas être automatiquement remboursées aux élèves. Ces derniers doivent faire des démarches sur la base du contrat qu’ils ont signé avec leur école. Il est possible pour l’élève de demander la collaboration de l’AQTr pour l’accompagner dans ses démarches de réclamation.

News Bulletin from the AQTr #16 – 2015: Message from the SAAQ – Revocation of the three certificates of recognition of Le Marquis Driving School : Information to students and request for support from neighbouring schools

This is to inform you that as of May 29, 2015, the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) revoked the three certificates of recognition of Le Marquis Driving School, which authorized the school to give the Road Safety Education Program:

  • Le Marquis, located at 17, rue des Pins, St-Antonin (Quebec), G0L 2J0
  • Le Marquis, located at 515, rue De la Briquette, Dégelis (Quebec), G5T 1B2
  • Le Marquis, located at 412, 9ème Rue, La Pocatière (Quebec), G0R 1Z0

We understand and regret that this revocation may cause inconveniences to the students who have not completed the program.

In this situation, students can take steps to be reimbursed for any amounts owing under the contract signed with the school. Students can choose to continue their training with another school, and they can contact the Association québécoise des transports (AQTr) to find another recognized school and to be helped in this process.

Accordingly, we ask recognized schools to cooperate with the students wishing to continue their training without delay and suggest that the schools:

  1. Welcome the students and allow them to resume their training from where they left off, on presentation of their Road Access Binder and a copy of their attestation. The AQTr will start delivering the attestations by mail to the students from June 15, 2015.
  2. Bill the students for the amount corresponding to the portion of the training left to be completed. In this regard, we wish to point out that under the Regulation respecting licences the maximum amount chargeable to take a driving course for a Class 5 driver’s licence is $825.
  3. Allow the students to use the educational material they already have.

Given the circumstances, we are counting on the schools to give the students affected their full support.

Please note that the sums already paid to revoked schools, for lessons to be done, will not be automatically reimbursed to students. Indeed, students need to start this procedure by themselves on the basis of the contract that they signed with the driving school. Students might as well ask for help from the AQTr to claim a refund.
