Toronto's Vision Zero Road Safety plan is a five year $80M action plan focused on eliminating traffic-related fatalities on Toronto's streets. The plan focuses on improving road safety for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, school children, older adults, cyclists and motorcyclists. In 2016, 82% of all pedestrian traffic-related fatalities in Toronto involved seniors making it the highest priority area of focus within the plan. Presented are details of the ongoing analysis to better understand the issues surrounding these fatalities and the safety countermeasures and programs that are planned.
